What we collect
Only what you give us: the contact form asks for your name, email, phone, the matter type and your message. The site also records the usual server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) and, if analytics is enabled, anonymous usage data.
Why we collect it
To reply to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to open your file. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for marketing you did not ask for.
Attorney–client privilege
Sending a message through this site does not make you a client and is not privileged. Please do not include confidential details until we have spoken and agreed to represent you.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are kept for 90 days unless a matter is opened, in which case they join the client file and are kept as Maryland and D.C. rules require.
Cookies
The site sets only the cookies WordPress needs to work. If analytics is switched on, its cookies are anonymous and can be blocked in your browser; the site works without them.
Your choices
Ask us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you by emailing info@colbertlawfirm.com. We will answer within 30 days.
Changes
We will post any change here with a new effective date.
