Janelle M. Ryan-Colbert founded Colbert Law Firm and practises from its office on Mitchellville Road in Bowie. Her work covers estates and probate, personal injury, protective orders and mediation, in the Maryland courts and in the District of Columbia.
Outside the firm she serves as an Attorney Advocate for Civil Justice Inc. and for Community Legal Services of Prince George’s County, and speaks nationally on legal issues. She lives by the motto “Committed to Service with Excellence.”
Early in her career she represented a father in a contested custody matter who, in her words to Black Enterprise (November 2019), “came to my office desperate, anxious, and felt that he had nowhere to turn.” She secured full custody for him.
